Comhdháil 2019 Conference

In tjhis our 69th year the annual conference was held at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick from 1-3 March, 2019. This all-island event saw third-level History students and early-career researchers from all over Ireland and abroad, present their work to a well-read audience of undergraduate and postgraduate students, early-career researchers, and established academics, as well as many others with a love of history.

The full conference timetable can be consulted on any electronic device on our Clár page and is also available as a PDF. We are pleased to make available abstracts of papers and biographies of the speakers on the Saturday; also available as a PDF.

We are very excited to announce that this year, IHSA is collaborating with UL and MIC on the journal History Studies. This journal is going to publish a 'special edition' of some the work presented at this conference. The chair of your panel will chose the best paper out of your panel and you will be recommended to submit an article to by Friday, 8 March 2019. However, if you really wish for your work to be published, we will still accept submissions until that date. Each article is to be no more than 5000 words, including footnotes. Please comply with the IHS guidelines (Irish historical studies) for referencing. Of course, if your work is already published elsewhere ,or if you wish to not publish, that is completely understandable. We intend on launching this edition of the journal at a special reception on 11 April 2019.
